Editorial and Social Media Design for Guardei.co

Editorial design project developed for a commemorative book celebrating the 90th anniversary of Maurício de Souza, a renowned Brazilian comic artist and cultural icon whose work has shaped generations of childhoods in Brazil and continues to do so today.

The concept was to bring together illustrations of characters from Turma da Mônica, created by children who are clients of guardei.co, into a special collection designed as a gift for the author.

I developed several studies for the cover and back cover. The idea was to bring together the main characters in slightly similar visual styles, while still respecting the originality and diversity of the children’s drawings. On the back cover, I explored quotes that reference iconic moments from the comic stories. These versions were not the final printed ones, but rather design explorations and visual possibilities developed by me as part of the project.

For the book’s interior, I chose to place drawings side by side, grouping illustrations made with similar materials and colour palettes. The background colours of each spread were designed to reference the main characters, reinforcing the narrative identity and visual coherence of the book.

I also created studies for potential Instagram posts using AI-generated imagery. The idea was to feature the character Sansão, representing a familiar and emotional presence not only in books and comics, but also across other formats within children’s everyday lives.

Project developed in collaboration with the guardei.co team.

Other Editorial Designs for Guardei.co

At guardei.co, I was responsible for editing and refining images that were later transformed into beautifully crafted art books. Here, I showcase a selection of the work I developed for the brand, including a special book collection designed for Teachers’ Day.

The concept behind this collection was to create a meaningful gift for each teacher at a client’s school, featuring drawings made by the children portraying their teachers from their own perspective. The illustrations reflect how the children perceived and interpreted their teachers, resulting in a playful and heartfelt visual narrative.

This selection highlights some of my image editing work, chosen cover designs, and the final book collection.
